Marta and Giò are sisters, and could not be more different. Giò lives in Paris, is free, without ties – except the one with her cat waiting for her at home in the evening – and has embarked on a brilliant career in advertising. Marta, on the other hand, chose love for her partner and her three-year-old son: from Milan she moved to the province and works as a speaker in a small radio station. Sometimes she thinks back to her dream of becoming a photographer, a dream that she abandoned to be a mother; but she knows that she doesn’t have her sister’s courage and determination. One day, however, everything becomes possible: Giò and Marta inherit the family bakery and return to Umbria, in the small town where they played as children. There, among olive trees and good wine, the days slow down and, unexpectedly, the time comes to understand if what they have built really satisfies them or if they have to start from scratch. And then there is him, the one who always knows how to find the right words, and who will upset the lives of both… Lucrezia Sarnari tells us about places where time still has value, and women who stop living in apnoea to leave behind everything that engulfs them. She reminds us that even today, in this world that never seems to stop, learning to know each other and being happy is possible.
