This is the story of how I, a simple girl from Northern Rome, like many others, in a tragic and gloomy day, without light, without sun, and above all without a taxi, was forced to take public transport for the first time in my life, going through an inferno of cramped, sweaty and smelly conditions, and how I got lost, with my hysterical but pedigree dwarf poodle, Copain, in Southern Rome. And how there, in the midst of the dregs of humanity – blacks, gypsies, fags, immigrants, poor people, ugly people who have no interested in changing, freelance artists, conspirators and all sorts of poor people -I met my destiny. To my great amazement my destiny did not look like I had always imagined since I was a child, like the dolls in a Barbie camper van, at a giant maxi party. No. My destiny announced itself like a blow on the head, a journey into unknown worlds populated by those I hate the most, common people; but also by those I love the most: politicians and VIPs, and an intelligent and boring voice (like all intelligent things), that of my guide, a strange ghost or spirit named Berli. I would like to avoid telling you all this, because the truth is like a box of chocolates: it always makes you fat. But I have to do it because since I came back, I have had a mission of vital importance: your future. I want and can offer you a more beautiful, intense, brighter future. A future fit for an Instagram profile. You just have to listen to my story. My name is Martina Dell’Ombra, and this story is not fake. This is a true story. The story of how I became myself. The story of how I became Top. My Genesis and my Nemesis. Even though I don’t know what it means.
