The sun is setting on the horizon, and already the land has fallen away behind me…they said that the stretch of sea is not very long, it is the narrowest point of this sea between two continents. But I’m scared. “Promised Land” aims to allow students to experience the terrible journey of a group of migrants, coming from the most disparate parts of the third world, committed to reaching the shores of the “Western world”. In this game of stepping into someone else’s shoes, participants will personally play out the experience (divided into three acts with both choral scenes and small groups) of having to migrate, starting from the early stages in their native lands. Students will be divided into groups and will be given their goals and contexts, but their personal inclinations and mentality will animate the characters. All the ideas are taken from real testimonies and presented without any political or moral judgment, in order to stimulate the participant to make up their own mind about the issues dealt with.
