The traces left by the Medici in Tuscany are huge. In addition to being sponsors of artistic creativity and tireless collectors, they promoted countless interventions in the territory.
Using digital material already available thanks to the project “The Medici: portraits, villas and other Medici itineraries in Tuscany – THE STREETS OF THE MEDICI” (acknowledged by UNESCO in 2013 and marked as BEST PRACTICE UNESCO in 2015 by the National Commission of UNESCO Associated Schools), the workshop will highlight the strategic intelligence behind the Medici interventions, with particular reference to the Medici villas. A summary of the results achieved by the project up to this date is contained in “Le Vie dei medici”, published by Ed. Toscana Promozione Turistica 2017, also available online, published by the Tuscany Region (in Italian and English):
