Angelica Marotta

Angelica Marotta is a Research Fellow at the National Research Council (Institute of Informatics  and Telematics – IIT) in Pisa, Italy. Marotta earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Pisa, a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security and a Master’s degree in Justice Studies with specialization in Cyber  Security from Southern New Hampshire University where she graduated with honors and received many accolades for her academic accomplishments.
Marotta began her research by investigating new concepts for cybersecurity projects in areas, such as cyber insurance and cyber risk. She is currently conducting research in cybersecurity policy  and is implementing frameworks to ensure ongoing privacy and security compliance for the IIT department of the National Research Council. She is also a Research Affiliate at the MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, MA. Her  current research activities at MIT includes analysis of how organizations and leaders build a culture of cybersecurity. She has performed teaching activity in cybersecurity leadership at the University of Pisa, Italy (Management Engineering) and has collaborated with international researchers in other disciplines of cybersecurity, particularly cybersecurity in emergency management. Marotta has participated in several national and international conferences and co-authored papers on cyber insurance and risk management.
She is actively involved in service activities, and currently holds the position of Community Service Chair for the Rotary E-Club of Melbourne in Australia.
