With one hundred hours of video uploaded and the visualisation of six billion hours every minute, one per each inhabitant of the planet, visual stimuli have reached staggering figures. We are immersed in permanent “visual noise” (Mirzoeff, 2017). It is hard to move our eyes away from our smartphones, devices, games, YouTube that work as visual landscape. Images, however, can be an alternative for teaching, thanks to its intrinsic characteristics – polysemy, for instance. This workshop will show the highlights of visual analysis methodologies and their phases: photo elicitation and image native making. Useful guidelines will be provided so teachers can correctly apply the method that will be experimented during the workshop.
