Today most young people use the Internet to communicate and to share contents, especially through social networks, exploiting this function of the web. Not all of them remember that the web was developed by a group of researchers of the CERN, in Geneva, to connect universities in order to widen the possibility of building knowledge. The capillary diffusion of personal computers before, and smartphones later, has revolutionised the identify of the web, but this has not prevented numerous researches dedicated to the study and research and academic and non-academic contexts to be made. Books, magazines, photographs, documentaries and many other materials have been selected, digitalised and made accessible to everyone, creating a bridge that connects memories and testimonies with the future. The digital archives on the Internet are a submerged heritage that is still unknown to the great public, an irreplaceable resource for teachers and students as well as for anyone who is not only searching for information, but also wants to ponder and think about the past, the present and the future, starting with schools. By means of interactions with digital archives, it is possible to construct, deconstruct and reconstruct narratives on the world of school and on the narrative identifies of the subjects that inhabit them, in their physical spaces and now also in the virtual worlds.
